“Gaslighting” serves as commentary on the inherent disparity of heteronormative gender dynamics, perpetrated in engendered consumption.

From girlhood, females are deeply pressured to participate in a material, consumerist cycle that shortchanges women with 77 cents on the dollar and undermines us with gender commodification. Like fryer hens to feed, we are encouraged to consume, consume, for the fulfilling purpose of male consumption.
